The future car pool of Funkstation

Ok, I changed my plans: I don’t need a Segway anymore. I want a VW GX 3.

P.S.: Of course, Bernhard, you can keep your Audi!
P.P.S.: Simeon, could you find out if they produce the thing somewhere around your place?
P.P.P.S.: Richard, your car was broke, right? Should I order two?

24 — We’re waiting…

We can’t wait to see more 24-action and the incredibly huge pile of high-tech gear of the CTU. Hopefully the storytelling will be interesting as well.
If you need a preview, here’s some material.

24 Season 5, starting this Sunday.

Web 2.0 Reinvented

I love applications like this one! I am working on a great business plan right now: It’s about remixing social synergies, enabling dynamic folksonomies and the reinvention of next generation social platforms.

WinterSkiing in Norway

though it might sound stupid for me to travel to norway to go skiing, i am sure it was worth the efford since I am here with a nice crew of collegues (V&S) and friends.
company is everything…

some impressions:
waiting for the ferryshopping mall on "Color Fantasy" (our ferry)
ColorLine´s Color Fantasy is one of the most modern ferries to carry cars and trucks, as well as passengers from Kiels Norwegenkai to Oslo. It has its own shopping mall, restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment facilities - even a SPA, so I spent some time in hot tubs and sauna - amazing sitting in in a hot tub on a ship - feeling the waves hit the ships massive metal body and making it shake and roll… lucky me - only small waves - no reason to get seasick ;)

on seano land behind us

arrival in oslo
after some hours of ferry (not that many hours of sleep) we arrive in oslo - sunrise happens some time later here in the north… 8.30h and its still dark…

driving in the snow
Andys brand new 4WD Nissan fights its way to “Trysil” - the mother of all ski-resorts here - even Michael Schumacher has a house here…

"Hüttenromantik"
our house is the most amazing wood-block-hut you can imagine - simply beautiful… more impressions to follow, this is just the dining-room…

Broadcasting with del.icio.us

The question why so many people bookmarked about:blank at del.icio.us still bugs me. (Apparently there was only one person (Jeff) who tried to answer.)
The for-tag is quite good way to contact people via del.icio.us. But it’s hard to use it for a lot of user names.
So I wrote a little program that parses the site for the user names, and then generates a huge string consisting of for:user1 for:user2 for:user3…. I copied that string and tagged my posting with it.

Pros

  • Contact many people at once.
  • Reach a peer group with a special interest.
  • Easy and fast.
  • No costs of distribution.

Cons

  • Some might consider it as spam
  • Users get angry.
  • The huge tag line with the for-tags stays there and somehow messes up your link list.
  • For some reason it takes a long time until the link appears on the for-page.

It’s going to be interesting how many people will respond to this broadcast. (Maybe it won’t work at all since del.icio.us will prevent the for-tag spam.)

Retrievr

Retrievr is a beautiful little tool that lets you draw something and then searches flickr for pictures that are similar. Below is a screenshot with my drawing and the retrieved pictures.
