Refugee Radio
Last weekend I met Mareike Gast at Designers Block . She built the Refugee Radio, which is powered by the energy of radio waves and is therefore energy independent. The concept is fantastic, I hope the radios will be manufactured in the near future.

When I was travelling through Europe once, I had a tiny radio with me. I remember one night sleeping on a high mountain somewhere in the Pyrenees and listening to Spanish folk music. It was perfect.
So Mareike could add another setting to the list of possible scenarios: People who prefere to travel light and who don't want come below a certain level of entertainment and information.
